Steady Increase in Single/Multi Section Shipments

Compared to the National Numbers

In June 2022, 11,372 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 915 homes or 8.8 percent compared to May 2022, and an increase of 1,938 homes or 20.5 percent compared to June 2021. Compared with the same month last year, shipments of single-section and multi-section homes were both up, by 34.8 percent and 10.6 percent, respectively. Total floors shipped in June 2022 were 17,581, an increase of 16.8 percent compared with the same month last year.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of shipments was 128,584 in June 2022, up 1.9 percent compared to the adjusted rate of 126,207 in April 2022. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.

Cumulative shipments for the first half of this year totaled 61,650 homes compared with 53,762 homes for the same six months of 2021, a net increase of 14.7 percent.

In June 2022, 11,373 new manufactured homes were produced, an increase of 922 homes or 8.8 percent compared to May 2022, and an increase of 1,943 homes or 20.6 percent compared to June 2021. MHI's Monthly Economic Report includes numbers for both manufactured home production and shipments. The difference between the two is attributed to the number of homes that have been produced, but their destinations are pending. There were 558 FEMA designated units produced in June 2022, whereas no FEMA units were produced in June last year.
