In September 2019, 8,025 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 444 homes or 5.9% compared to September 2018, but a decrease of 606 homes or 7.0% compared to August 2019. Compared with the same month last year, shipments of both single-section and multi-section homes were up, 6.9% and 5.0%, respectively. Total floors shipped in September 2019 were 12,508, an increase of 5.5% compared with September 2018. None of the September 2019 shipments were FEMA units.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of shipments was 97,594 in September 2019, up 0.3% compared to the adjusted rate of 97,351 in August 2019. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.

The number of plants reporting production in September 2019 was 135 and the number of active corporations was 33, one fewer plant and corporation than in August 2019.
